About Mental Health Matters PH
Mental Health Matters (MHM) exists because stigma still keeps many Filipinos from getting the care they need. Founded by Kylie Verzosa, MHM started as a safe online space and has grown into a community for learning, sharing, and finding help. We make mental health easier to understand with simple language, clear tips, and real next steps. Our goal is to turn awareness into action—so people know what to do today, where to go for support, and how to support someone they love.
We imagine a Philippines where mental health is not met with shame or judgment. We want young people, families, teachers, and teams to feel safe asking for help and confident talking about it. We believe small steps add up: a breathing exercise, an honest check-in, a boundary that protects your peace, a call to a trusted professional. We share “myth vs fact” guides, short how-tos, and gentle reminders you can use in real life—because progress can be steady, simple, and kind.
We act through three things: education, community, and pathways to care. Education means saveable guides and talks that use plain words. Community means events and conversations that celebrate wins and make people feel seen. Pathways to care means pointing to hotlines, therapists, clinics, and affordable options where possible. We welcome everyone and commit to inclusivity, accessibility, and cultural sensitivity in all we do. MHM shares information and connection—we do not replace professional care. If you or someone you know may be in crisis, please reach out to local emergency services or a trusted hotline right away. You are not alone.
